At least 6,284 people died and 7,468 were injured in 5,371 road accidents last year, said Road Safety Foundation today.

Of them, 35.23 percent were killed in crashes involving bikes while 34.23 percent were passersby and 12.69 percent were drivers and helpers, said the organisation at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity today.

Last year, 159 people died, 192 got injured and 47 went missing in 76 waterway accidents, it said.
